Starting the Year with new friends! ๐ฏ๐ฅณ- CH Newsletter #81
As part of joining our private student residence, our members receive weekly updates about the community, upcoming events, developments in the student residence and any other relevant news. We've decided to post these updates on our website in order to let our visitors looking for student housing get an inside view of the Chelsea House student life!
Welcome back to the CH Show!!! ๐บ - This is the weekly update to keep you abreast of whatโs good in Montreal, the city we love โค๏ธ, as well as updates from your beloved student residence community ๐ก (and another benefit is this keeps parents back home jealous at all times & updated enough not to blow up your phones lolโค๏ธ๐ ).
Hi CFAM!! New members are now coming in and soon your roommates will be arriving and the start of you fun year is on the way.
With that being said here are some tips in living in a Co-living Setup.
๐ Communication and Respect: Dorm life involves sharing space with others. Effective communication and mutual respect are essential. ๐ฃ๏ธ Establish clear boundaries and rules with your roommates, and address any issues that arise promptly and respectfully. ๐ฅ Regularly check in with each other to ensure everyone's needs are being met.
โฐ Time Management: Balancing academics, social life, and personal time can be challenging. Develop good time management skills to stay on top of your studies while still enjoying the social aspects of dorm life. ๐ Use tools like calendars, to-do lists, and time-blocking techniques to help you manage your responsibilities effectively.
๐ Community Engagement: Dorms often offer opportunities to engage with other residents through events, clubs, and activities. Participate in these to meet new people, build connections, and enrich your college experience. Engaging with your dorm community can lead to friendships, support networks, and memorable experiences.
๐ฆ Personal Space and Organization: Dorm rooms are typically smaller than typical living spaces, so effective organization is key. Invest in storage solutions like bins, shelves, and hooks to maximize your space. Keeping your personal area tidy will help you feel more comfortable and reduce stress.
๐ Self-Care and Well-Being: College life can be demanding, so prioritize your physical and mental well-being. Establish a regular sleep schedule, maintain a balanced diet, and find ways to manage stress, such as through exercise, hobbies, or mindfulness practices. Seek support from friends, family, or campus resources if you're feeling overwhelmed.
๐ Remember, dorm life is a learning experience in itself. Embrace the challenges and opportunities it presents, and you'll likely come away with valuable skills and lifelong memories. ๐

Inspections
Every CH member needs to complete their move-in inspection. This is our opportunity to document any damages or missing items in your apartment at the start of your lease. If you fail to complete your move-in inspection after receiving the follow up email from us, you are implicitly confirming that there are no damages and no missing items in your room and apartment.
There is a $950 refundable security deposit due to cover any damages and/or missing items that might occur during your stay at Chelsea House. Any damages and/or missing items discovered at the time of move-out which are not recorded in your move-in inspection will be deducted from your security deposit. Damages in the common areas of your apartment will be shared equally between all roommates.
Parents โ please note that it is 100% normal that some breakage occurs during the stay of your favorite student. Our weekly housekeeping, the fact we only have amazing members really mitigates the risk of high damages, but mistakes do happen (like if your son didnโt know you canโt put metal in a microwave oven lol). As a reference point, there was an average breakage last year of 74$ per member. When factoring the cost of outfitting each apartment (aprox 15,000$) this is a fraction of the cost to have full access on great equipment, furniture and facilities. Our objective is simply to keep the House fully equipped and amazing for the next years :)

We love seeing our Members going on their adventures. โ๏ธ Send us your vacation pics so we can also share it with the rest of the CH Community! In return, you'll get some ๐ฐ for your next cup of iced coffee (or ๐น) from us! ๐ We promise we'll try our best not to get jealous of the sight you're enjoying ๐๐ป (FOMO is real lol)
Send those pictures to info@chelsea.house & let us know where the photos are taken. ๐
Are you enjoying your Chelsea House Experience so far?
It would mean the world to us if you could take a few minutes to share with us your thoughts (check out the link below).
